Source Verification Standards

Sandustry Guide operates with a strict commitment to data transparency, reproducible engineering calculations, and clear evidence boundaries.

We distinguish between three categories of information:

1. Official Platform and Store Data: Release dates, developer/publisher attribution, and supported operating systems are verified directly through Steam Store listings and official publisher announcements.
2. First-Party Testing: Precise behavior belongs on a guide only after a versioned in-game check records the tested field, unit, result, date, and method. No such test becomes a hidden planner default.
3. Community Demand Signals: Discussions may reveal that players have a problem, but a single post does not prove a recipe, optimal layout, or current-version mechanic.
4. Transparent Mathematical Calculations: Rate balances and storage-duration results follow the public first-party formula contract. Those equations describe this tool, not official game mechanics.

Policy on Recipe Databases

Sandustry is currently in active Early Access. In-game machine recipes, cycle durations, and byproduct yields undergo frequent developer balance passes.

To uphold data integrity:

• No Scraped or Datamined Databases: We do not scrape wikis or unpack game binaries to present static recipe tables that may quickly become inaccurate.
• User-Provided Rates: All inputs to the Material Balance Planner are supplied directly by players from their running game version.
• Formula Transparency: Every formula used to calculate net balances, makeup water requirements, and storage overflow durations is displayed in plain text with substituted values.
